Thailand: three tourists from U.S. scammed by tour company, Russian owned

Three American tourists came to the Pattaya police station to complain about being scammed by a Pattaya tour agency.

The victims were identified as Mr. Viac Heslavm Akhmetor, age 62; and Mrs. Lyudmila Akhmetor, age 62, an American couple formerly of Latvia. They were visiting Pattaya with their elder sister; Mrs. Svetlana Latvijas Smite, age 66, nationality Latvian. The victims brought documents that included the receipts of the prepaid hotel room of a tour package, which they had purchased for an overnight trip to Koh Chang island. They showed the Pattya police investigation officer the name card of the tour agency, World of Chang Co., Ltd. with the passport of the owner identifying her as Mrs. Natalia Eleynikova, age 54, nationality Russian.
