Philippines: Dengue continues to surge through Visayas, cases steadily rise

As covered by tempo.com.ph, “Dengue cases in Central Visayas is steadily increasing the disease as the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) of the Department of Health (DoH) 7 has already recorded close to 4,000 cases from January 1 to March 23 this year. Latest figures from RESU 7 registered a total of 3,736 cases for the said period while last year it only recorded 1,736 cases. However, deaths are lower this year at eight while in 2012 12 deaths were recorded for the first quarter.” Read Article
