Limón Costa Rica: Hotel closes due to recent assaults on tourists

DUE TO SECURITY ISSUES Hotel Colón Caribe CLOSES DOORS
m.teletica.com reported that this past Friday Caribbean Hotel Colón in Limón closed its doors after suffering a recent assault with weapons being used. Furniture was loaded away last Friday after the hotel operated for 14 years. The manager made the decision to close after Swedish and Swiss guests were victimized in March of 1013.
Trucks loaded with some of the furniture out of the hotel on Friday closed in Limon after 14 years of operations. According to the hotel manager, Esteban Oreamuno, who suffered the assault last month in which two tourists were Swedish and Swiss victims of crime, made this decision. Vice Minister of Security for Costa Rica stated the area is secure and homicides and assaults have been reduced. The hotel provided jobs for 30 people. Read Article
