Japanese tourist suffers minor injuries after being hit by a car in the UK

Nwemail.co.uk reports that a Lake District road has reopened after a tourist was hit by a car in Bowness. A woman believed to be in her 60s was hit by a Vauxhall Corsa, driven by a 19-year-old man, near the Old England Hotel, in Bowness, at around 11am today. The woman, understood to be a Japanese tourist, was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary by ambulance where she is being treated for her injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
