Fire in tourist area of Abu Dhabi kill two Palestinian tourists, injure 20 others

According to a khaleejtimes.com report, a series of fires across the country killed five people, including three children, in the capital and Fujairah on Monday. Two fires raged in tower blocks on Abu Dhabi’s Electra Street and the Tourist Club area claiming three lives, while 20 others suffered serious or minor injuries, police said. The Electra Street fire in Abu Dhabi killed a Palestinian man, 39, and his three-year-old daughter. His 12-year-old son and other family members, including his parents, were rescued by Civil Defence officials. The Abu Dhabi Police said the fire also injured three firefighters who battled for hours to control the blaze which was first reported at 10.30am. Read article
