Egypt: Kidnapped tourists being used as leverage, captors refuse ransom money

As covered by dailynewsegypt.com, “Kidnappers in the Sinai Peninsula confirmed that officials from the Norwegian embassy offered them a large sum of money in exchange for the release of a Norwegian Tourist captured with an Israeli companion on Friday. The kidnappers stated that they did not capture the tourists to claim a ransom, but to pressure Egypt’s security forces to release one of their relatives being held on what they referred to as “false and fabricated” charges.” Read Article
