Egypt: Civil Disturbance at Tahrir Square/Tourist advised stay clear

Pro-democracy groups in Egypt have called for a mass demonstration in Cairo to protest the sentence handed down to former President Mubarak and accomplices last week. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to gather in Tahrir Square from 5pm (local time) on Tuesday June 5th 2012. Visitors in Cairo are advised to stay well away from Tahrir Square for the duration of the protest. These events have in the past resulted in violence and deaths. Read article
