6.9 earthquake northern coast of Ferndale California

AP reported that an earthquake with magnitude 6.9 occurred near Ferndale, CA at 05:18:12.40 UTC on Mar 10, 2014. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.) Officials say a powerful magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck Sunday night off the coast of Northern California, but there were no early signs of a tsunami. The U.S. Geological Survey says the temblor struck at 11:18 p.m. CDT about four miles beneath the Pacific seabed and about 50 miles west of Eureka. Read Article
